Five captains have been chosen by the North Carolina men's lacrosse team for the upcoming campaign.

The squad captains for 2022–2023 have been chosen by these players' teammates.

Head coach Joe Breschi expressed his happiness for the young men who were chosen as leaders by their teammates.

“Connor Maher”, a midfielder from Timonium, Maryland, finished second on the squad with 43 ground balls, created 10 turnovers, and scored two goals and provided two assists in 2022.

Defensive midfielder “Alex Breschi”, a native of Glen Arm, Maryland, played for the Tar Heels in 14 games in 2022, compiling 18 ground balls and forcing eight turnovers, which tied for the second-most on the team.

Last season, “Lance Tillman”, an attackman from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, played in 14 games for the Tar Heels and recorded 21 goals, 9 assists, 30 points, and 9 groundballs.

Defensive midfielder “Quintin O'Connell” of New Canaan, Connecticut, played in five games in 2022, recording four groundballs and two assists.

San Diego, California native “Evan Egan”, a defenseman, played in five games and started three of them in 2022. He recorded a career-high eight groundballs and two forced turnovers.

For their exceptional work in the classroom, Breschi, O'Connell, Maher, and Egan were also named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
